the settlement of 45 families, their main occupation being the fishing industry.
Previously this area was part of the “Nurra di Sassari ”and was sparsely inhabited by peasants and shepherds, that lived in animal shelters known as “li cuili”.
The village of Stintino, which belonged to the county of Sassari, from 1988 became independent.
The first local elections of Stintino were held in March of 1989.
